New Year, New Goals! 2020

The beginning of the year is always my favorite part of the year for a lot of reasons but the biggest reason is the endless possibilities. Setting goals is one of my favorite things to do and starting fresh in a new year is always fun! Last year I took a really relaxed approach and didn’t make any real goals but I’m so excited to come up with new challenges for the year.

I set up this post to share with you some of the goals I will be working towards in the New Year.

  • Post 2-3 times per week Consistency is something I struggle with but I am really excited for a lot of projects and I have a lot of plans for 2020.
  • Engage more with the blogging community I’m the worst at commenting and blog hopping even though this is one of the reasons why I started blogging in the first place.
  • Actively participate in more Events/Readathons/Readalongs I love joining in events and challenges and participating but most of the time I don’t really interact as much as I would like to, Yay Anxiety, and I really want to work on that in 2020
  • Promote my blog more I have multiple platforms besides my blog including Pinterest, Twitter, and Instagram and I barely use them. I really want to change that in 2020.
  • Reviews I’m hoping to review every book I read in 2020. I’m going to be experimenting with different formats of reviews as well. This is the most intimidating of my goals of 2020

  • Goodreads goal of 102 books I’m cutting my goal in more than half this year to remove the pressure of needing to finish books fast. I know I’ll pass this before the year is over but I think it’s a good place to start.
  • Focus on series I am horrible at finishing series, most of the time I read the first in a series and year later pick up the 2nd so I really need to catch up on some series in 2020
  • Focus on the big books With my reading goal being really high last year I barely read any books over 350 pages. I have a ton of books 500 pages plus that I’ve been wanting to read but I pushed aside to read shorter books to keep up with my Goodreads challenge.
  • Classics I’m really enjoying reading classics but a lot of the time reading them takes longer than a modern novel and I want to give them the time that they need in 2020.

  • Exercise I started exercising more in 2019 and I’ve discovered that I really enjoy it. This is something I want to take into 2020 with me.
  • Limit Pop The amount of pop that I drink has become ridiculous. I was doing really good for a while there in 2019 but I want to get back on track and drink other things. My coffee and tea collection has been ignored for way to long.
  • Weight Loss This is a goal I always have in the back of my head. I’m at my biggest weight of all time and I’m not comfortable at this weight. I really would like to lose a little in 2020.
  • Say Yes more! I hate going out of my comfort bubble but I know this means I miss out on a lot of opportunities so I am going to be more spontaneous and put myself out there more in 2020.

So here you have it my major goals of 2020. I have a couple smaller ones I’m working on as well as things from my 101 Things in 1001 Days post but I am so excited to get started on what I am hoping to be ana amazing year.

What are your 2020 goals?

  1. All great goals – especially your personal goals. I know if I exercised more, I would probably feely physically and mentally better. Good luck with all of these goals.

  2. Great goals. I’ve also reduced my reading challenge so I’m not feeling pressured to read when I’m not in the mood. I’m trying to interact more with other bloggers too, hence my comment. Good luck xxx
