TTT: 10 most recent books added to my TBR

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish and is now hosted by That Artsy Reader Girl. This week’s topic is The Ten Most Recent Additions to My Bookshelf.

I don’t buy books very often, in fact, I think it has been over a year since I bought a book so I decided to change the prompt a little and share with you my most recent books added to my Goodreads TBR that I can’t wait to read.

In this charming, feel-good debut novel, a cynical assistant at a screenwriting agency must reenact the meet-cute scenes from classic romantic comedy movies in order to help her #1 client get his scriptwriting mojo back–but can a real-life meet-cute be in store for someone who doesn’t believe in happily ever after?

Would Like to Meet sounds like a really cute romance. I love that it sounds like it is going to feature a whole bunch of classic romance scenes that we all grew up with. It sounds like it will be super cute and a quick read I’ve also heard great things from friends on this one. My library has a copy of this and I just put it on hold.

The Bromance Book Club (Bromance Book Club, #1) This is the most amazing concept ever! Total alpha males trying to work on their marriages/relationships by going to a secret underground romance book club? Sign me up. I love that all the men in this book thought to go read romance to understand their women. Initially, this was pitched as a second chance romance so I was wary of reading this. Typically to make second chance appealing authors make a really big drama to keep readers interested I.E. cheating or a BIG miscommunication. However, I’ve been reassured that this isn’t a problem in this one and that its worth the time.

This book has been almost added to my TBR a few times but I  finally decided to add it. I loved Night Film when I read it a couple of years ago. My friends have mixed opinions on this one though so I’m going into this one cautiously. The blurb is pretty vague so I don’t really know that much about it. I personally like to not know a bunch about mystery books so I am saving this one for a night where I can read this all in one go since I feel like I won’t want to set this down.

I’ve also heard that the audiobook is not good so I will be reading this versus picking up the audio.

I’ve read both od Francesca Zappia’s other traditionally published novels and I loved them both and gave them both 5 stars! The plot for this one is really different than what I’ve read from her in the past but her writing style I find it really compelling so I’m excited to give this a chance. She also has some stories shared on Wattpad that are different than what she is known for so I might pick those up at the same time. If this is anything like her last 2 books I’ll need to set a huge chunk of time aside so I can read this cover to cover. Speaking of covers I love this one! The colors are amazing and I could frame it!

I haven’t heard anything about this one yet but fingers crossed that I love it!

This book is HUGE!(for a romance)  Zapata is known for writing really long slow burn romances and that’s why I haven’t read any of her books yet! I love romance but slow burns aren’t my favorites. I prefer the romance picking up faster when its dragged out it feels like the book is a lot bigger than it really is. However, I’ve never heard a negative thing about any of her books. I have a lot of friends who feel the same way I do about slow burns but felt like it was so worth it with Zapata so I’m willing to give her a shot!

She has a large backlist so if I love it I have plenty to chose from after reading this one.

This one has recently been making the rounds across the romance world and everyone seems to love it. I added this to my TBR without even reading the description after hearing nothing but good things. What I know is this is a friends to lovers (my favorite romance trope) with a hero who is the underdog which is a weakness for me so I am so excited about this. I believe this is the start of a series as well so I am hoping to love this so I can read the rest of the books as well The only thing is I don’t love the cover that much since I’m reading this on my Kindle it shouldn’t matter but it’s not one that I would want on my shelf.

So I love vampires and I am so excited to see that they are making a comeback in mainstream publishing! I’ve been reading a ton of indie books feature vamps but I can’t say I’ve read many in a historical setting before. I’ve only read one other book by this author but I’ve been meaning to get back to her other series but this one immediately caught my eye.

The cover for this is amazing its so simple but I love it silver, black, and red make for a really appealing cover. I really am drawn to books with covers similar to this and I’m glad to see it’s making a comeback as well

I love to read books written in a not traditional way this one is written in only text messages so it’s bound to be interesting. I’ve read a few other books in this format and I’ve liked them. It’s a really hard skill to convey feelings in this format but I’m excited to give this one a try. The format should make this one a really quick read making it a perfect book between long or dense books. I haven’t found it at my library so I might have to get a loan or purchase this one in the future so unfortunately, it might be on my TBR for a while.

I have been waiting for years for Erin Morgenstern to write the 2nd book. The Night Circus was one of my favorite books in high school and 1 of the only books that I’ve ever reread. I waited a while before adding this book to my TBR out of fear. I don’t know if I will like this as much as her first book but I’m really excited to read this one. I’ve heard amazing things from reviewers about how it really reminded them of The Night Circus so I have high hopes. Also, the cover is stunning! I can’t wait to get my own copy of this book to go with my copy of The Night Circus they will look beautiful together.

Lastly on my list is this one. I randomly found this on my library’s new release shelf on Hoopla and thought it sounded interesting. The main character has cerebral palsy so I’m really interested to read it because of the rep. However, I haven’t seen any own voice reviews so I’m not sure how good the rep is. The ratings I’ve seen for this are average about 3 stars but I haven’t seen any of my friends read or add this book to their TBR so I’m still interested in giving this a try. I’m also on the hunt for own voice reviews on CP before I give this one a go.

  1. I did TBR adds too, since I feature my hauls on my weekly wrap up. Oddly enough, I actually did buy two of these – The Long Distance Playlist and The Guy on the Right. I love Eglington and Guy got so much good buzz, I couldn’t resist. I actually read 4 of these too. Bromance was everything I wanted it to be. Would Like to Meet was cute. I liked Addamsville a lot too (and hope there’s a sequel), and I enjoyed It’s My Life as well. I hope you get to read all of these.

  2. I loved The Night Circus too, so I cannot wait to read The Starless Sea.
I am enjoying all of the illustrated covers lately and there are a few on your list that I haven’t seen before, so I’m off to read more about them.
