Top Ten Tuesday: TBR books with colors in the title

Hello, it’s been a while since I’ve done a Top Ten Tuesday post but I am so excited to be back and today I am sharing ten books on my TBR with a Color in the title!

Top Ten Tuesday was created by The Broke and the Bookish in June of 2010 and was moved to That Artsy Reader Girl in January of 2018. It was born of a love of lists, a love of books, and a desire to bring bookish friends together.

This was a lot easier than I thought it would be. Colors were all over my TBR and I tried not to pick to many of the same color for variety.

  • Black Helicopters-–Sounds amazing! This is a story in which the main character is a suicide bomber. This looks to be a very hard-hitting and unique point of view.
  • Anne of Green Gables is a classic clearly and one that I’ve been meaning to read for a really long time. I’ve never seen any shows so Anne’s story is still all new for me but the commercials make me want to get to this as soon as possible.
  • Stay Gold was a automatic need to read for me. As soon as I saw that this was a retelling of The Outsiders I had to read this. The more I learn about this book the more I want to read it. I’ve heard there is good trans rep in here as well so I’m really exxcited to get my hands on it soon.

  • Black Flags, Blue Waters is a kind of random book on my TBR. I love to learn about pirates and someone recommended this to me so I was so excited to try it. I don’t know a lot about the real pirates so I;m excited for this one. Also apparently young Ben Franklin is involved in this so I am really interested to see his part.
  • A Blade so Black sounds really good! I’ve heard a lot of mixed thoughts on it though so I am a little  nervous to read this. This is a Alice in Wonderland retelling which is my favorite classic so I am really excited to see what the author did with the world.
  • Ramona Blue is a book that has been on my radar for awhile now. I’ve been meaning to read a book by Julie Murphy and this plot just sounds really interesting to me. I’m very interested to see how this plays out. I love books featuring discovering your identity and I’ve heard that a lot of people felt they really related to the characters in here.

  • Red White & Royal Blue has so much hype that I haven’t really read into this book at all. I know this is a romance between a prince and the son of a politician, I believe the president of America, and that’s it. I’ve seen so many people rave about this that I placed a hold at my library and am impatiently waiting for it.
  • Summer Bird Blue was a instant want to read for me before this book had I title I had added it to my TBR. Akemi’s first book is one of my favorite books ever and it ruined me and I fear this one will do the same! I’m waiting for the perfect mood for this book.

  • Spinning Silver is another book that I don’t really know a lot about. I loved Uprooted which is set in the same world as this book. This retelling is based around Rumplstilskein which I don’t think I’ve ever seen a retelling based on that story before. I’ve seen mixed reviews though on this one which is what is holding me back from reading it.
  • Black Leopard Red Wolf is a book that I’ve checked out it feels like a millions times but somehow I’ve never managed to read this. This is marketed as the black Game of Thrones which sounds really interesting to me.

That’s it! 10 of the books on my TBR that have a color in the title!

I’m really excited to see how other people interperated this prompt and I can’t wait to read them all. If you participated in this prompt feel free to link your post below!

  1. Oh, you’re so lucky that you don’t know anything about Anne of Green Gables before you’ve read it. I was the same way when I first read it, and it really made the storyline even more special. There are eight books in that series, plus a few more that feature some of the characters from the original run. They’re all worth checking out.

    My TTT .
